IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FOUR COUNTY HONOR BAND:
Congratulations for your selection to participate in the IRSC 2011-2012 Four County Honor Band. Please see the important information below.
COST:
The fee this year will be $15.00 per student. Monies are due to the band office no later than 2 pm Monday November 28th. CASH OR MONEY ORDERS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED. Please make money orders payable to the Treasure Coast High School Band Department. This expense is eligible to be paid through S.I.A. If paying through your Student Individual Account, please fill out an envelope and indicate “4 County S.I.A” and place it in the band office drop box. It is your responsibility to make sure that you have enough money in your S.I.A. to cover this expense. IRSC policy states that “students will not be allowed to participate until fees are paid in full.”
Student folders are availalble for pickup at the TCHS band office. Your participation fee is due at that time.
ATTIRE:
The mandatory performance attire for boys & girls for all symphonic and Jazz performances is concert black dresses and tuxedos. All students must be in dress code to perform at this event. REMINDER: All attire monies along with final measurements are due to the T.C.H.S band office by December 5th. Boys may wear their marching shoes or purchase black tuxedos shoes locally. Black socks are mandatory for young men.
Guidelines for girls shoes
- Shoes must be plain black. No designs.
- NO MORE THAN a two inch heel.
- Shoes must be closed toe.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- All honor band participants students are required to bring a portable music stand. The TCHS band department will not supply stands for students to transport to the college campus.
- Students are expected to be early for rehearsal in order to warm-up and be ready for the start of rehearsal. Students arriving late may be dismissed from the band.
- Students are expected to be prepared for rehearsals. Bring a pencil and all instrument accessories. Jazz students must bring their own amps and cables.
- Remember that you are a representative of T.C.H.S. Any inappropriate behavior can be viewed as a negative reflection of you, your band program and your director.
- Remember to have your concert attire ready to wear for the concert. This means all measurements and alterations should be done before this date. Students are required to wear their concert band uniforms (including proper shoes/socks) for the concert on Saturday night.
- The primary purpose of each rehearsal should be to make music.
- Appropriately label all personal belongings including cases, and accessories.
- REHEARSAL ATTENDANCE POLICY: The consequence for missing any rehearsal: The student will be placed in the last chair of his/her section. This is IRSC policy.
